Our Clear Polys
Our clear 11 and 12 mils woven polys are made especially for greenhouse use and for other uses where light transmission is important. Our 24 mils is the strongest but not for most greenhouses. All three kinds are heavy gauge triple-layered high-density poly. All are attractive looking. And all three are protected by UV stabilizer no matter which side you face outward.
11 mils “Clear” Poly
This is our BEST poly for combined strength and light. It’s great for light-loving plants such as melons, tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers. It is stronger than most non woven polys, which makes it better for hail, snow, wind, etc. This 11 mils poly is our latest improvement on the strength we’ve sold for over 25 years and replaces the 10.5 mils poly.
12 mils “Clear” Poly
This is very strong, even stronger than our 11 mils, but less clear because it’s thicker. For crops needing more shade such as lettuce, ferns, or orchids, 12 mils may reduce or eliminate the need for shadecloth. Some prefer it for the roof or for heavy snowloads or for intensely sunny areas such as Arizona. But in most regions, use our 11 mils woven poly if you need higher light for tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and other vegetables.
24 mils “Clear” (Translucent) Poly
Much stronger than the above but less light admitted. This poly is used mostly in barns, animal enclosures and dividers, etc.
